Living in Timber Ridge and Pass Christian

Timber Ridge canal community with waterfront homes and private docks
The canal network that makes Timber Ridge one of the Gulf Coast's most established waterfront communities.

The morning starts at the dock. Coffee in hand, you walk down the stairs from the house, past the covered carport, and step onto the wooden planks of your private dock. The water is still. A heron stands on the bulkhead three houses down. Across the canal, a neighbor is already pulling his boat out for a morning run.

A community built around water

Timber Ridge was designed for people who want their boat steps from their back door. The deep-water canals here are bulkheaded and maintained, with private docks at nearly every home. From the dock at 231 Fairway Dr, it is a short cruise to Mallini Bayou and the open Gulf. Treasure Point, the community's boat launch and picnic area, is managed by the POA and sits just down the canal.

The community has been here for decades, and the character shows. The streets are lined with mature trees, the homes are well-kept, and the neighbors know each other by name. This is not a new development with a promise. It is an established waterfront community that has already proven what it is.

Golf across the street

Pass Christian Isles Golf Club sits directly across Fairway Drive. The 18-hole course winds through coastal pines and along the canal, and the clubhouse is a social hub for residents. Some days you walk over for a full round. Other days you walk over for a quick nine and a cold drink. Either way, the golf is part of the daily rhythm, not a weekend detour.

Pass Christian itself

Pass Christian has been the Mississippi Gulf Coast's quiet address since the 1800s. The Main Street district is a walkable stretch of live oaks, galleries, and restaurants. The harbor is the center of town: fishing boats at dawn, sailboats at sunset, and a few good restaurants where you can eat what was caught that morning. The community is old enough to have a sense of itself and small enough that people still wave from their porches.

U.S. Highway 90 runs along the beach, and the beach here is real. Wide, sandy, and backed by a seawall, it is the kind of place where you walk for twenty minutes and only see a few other people. The Pass Christian Yacht Club has been the waterfront social center since 1914. The small-town character here is not manufactured. It has been here for generations.

Golden hour over the waterfront canal community
Sunsets over the canal are a nightly event. The light on the water is the reason people come back to this community year after year.

The practical details

Timber Ridge is managed by a POA that covers the swimming pool, tennis court, Treasure Point boat launch, private security patrol, and professionally maintained common areas. The annual fee is $325. Flood insurance is transferable and currently costs under $1,400 per year. Pass Christian is in the Harrison County School District, and the area is served by Pass Christian High School, which is known for strong academics and athletics.

Gulfport is 20 minutes east. Bay St. Louis is 15 minutes west. New Orleans is just over an hour via Interstate 10. The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport is 30 minutes away. The location is quiet enough to feel remote but connected enough to reach a city in reasonable time.
